Puberty and menopause..

Puberty is a stage in the development of humans and other mammals when the sex organs mature and first produce gametes. Puberty take place later in life in humans than in mammals. However, in humans, there has been a recent trend towards earlier puberty probably because of better nutrition of children. Menopause is the time in a woman's life when she gradually slows down and finally stops producing eggs, and her menstrual cycle ceases. This usually takes place between the ages 45 and 55...............

Down's syndrome...

...Unfortunately, sometimes the process of gamete formation goes wrong. In one particular case, a gamete may carry two copies of the 21st human chromosomes. If this gamete is fertilized by a normal gamete, then the zygote which results will have three copies of chromosome 21. This results in the disorder known as Down's syndrome. Children with this condition show varying degrees of mental retardation, stunted physical growth, a reduced resistance to disease and congenital heart defects.....
